I know, I'm literally half a month late for my Obligatory New Year's Post but I've been super busy these past weeks. It's still January so it still counts, right? And this will be a quick post! Anyway, I've already posted a short summary of my 2018, and it's on my Instagram. But for the sake of posting and in the spirit of sharing, here it is:

"The darkest part of the night is just before sunrise." This is one of the quotes my dad tells me very often, especially during my down times. The reason I haven't been posting these past months is - aside from being busy with work - because I have been dealing with perhaps the greatest loss of my life so far.

In light of recent events, mental illness has once again become the talk of the town; but for how long? And up to what extent do we talk about it? I'd just like to share my personal take on this issue and hopefully, as my thoughts are quite scattered right now, I could somehow give a perspective to this from someone battling the same thing.

Just a short personal post for you all before anything else. (Yes I know I need to update my pop culture tag) I wanted to write a little something about facing your fears as it has been an achievement on my part and I felt like sharing it.

WOW. It has been over two months since I last posted anything here. I promise I haven't forgotten about it. A lot of things have happened in the recent months; March and April have been extremely eventful, both good and bad.

I have two cases-in-point to answer that: two little films called A Walk to Remember and Letters to Juliet. You probably have heard of them, maybe even seen them (perhaps a hundred times, like me?) Yes, these are my two favorite romance films ever. Not classic drama love stories like Titanic or The Notebook, though I love those as well. There's just something about these two particular movies that tugs my heartstrings every time I watch them; I hope I can point it out in this post.

One of my greatest frustrations in life is that I was not able to hone the artist in me. My dad was a passionate artist when he was younger; he used to paint and sketch very well. I'm not sure why he stopped though. Anyway, I think I got this whole thing from him. The thing is, I'm not very good with hand art. When I was second year high school, I discovered the magic that is Photoshop and self-taught myself. Until now, several years later, I still use the program whenever I feel an itch of creativity.

If there was anything I would say about this year, it's that 2017 was one of the most memorable years in recent memory - given that I haven't been having the best years before this one. To put it simply, this year was memorable because it was the the year I had a lot of firsts.

December 27, 2016, Philippine time. I was lying down in bed that morning scrolling through Facebook because I was on Christmas break thus enjoying the holidays and just lounging around. One of my friends tagged me in this post that went something like "Carrie Fisher rushed to LA hospital due to heart attack". I thought it was a hoax. And then another two or three friends tagged me in similar posts. No, no, no. This isn't happening, I said.

Then before the day ended, CNN broke the news we were all afraid to hear. She was 60, and just appeared as a CGI-d version of her younger self in Rogue One a few days before. Oh and it was also just a few days after she released her latest (and last) book, The Princess Diarist, in which she dropped the biggest secret of her life ever. Imagine, the last thing she did was tell the whole world that she slept with Harrison Ford.

Hello! It's the most wonderful time of the year! I'd just like to pass by to drop a personal little Christmas message and some realizations about the season as I get older. It will be short, I promise!

I'm finally posting again! Life has taken much of a toll on me, both physically and emotionally, but I'll write about that in another post. Allow me to make a good vibes post first. :)

A little fun fact about me that few people know is that I really love broadway musicals. My all-time favorite is The Sound of Music. I can also name many more but if there's one musical I will never get tired of watching and listening to, it's definitely The Sound of Music.

Hey everyone! I've been planning to do this for some time already, I just didn't have the time to do so since I started working. I also decided to do this to spread awareness on taking care of a house rabbit. It's not very common to have (I don't want to use the word "own" because I treat my bunnies as my children :P) a rabbit as a pet in the Philippines and people are always amazed every time I tell them Marion is 8 years old or whenever they see Oreo's colored fur. So, once and for all, I'm going to spread information and awareness on bunny-human relationships!

I haven't posted here in a while since it's been quite boring. But hey, here's a short personal post about my 23rd birthday! I know, I know. Time to upadte my About Me section, etc. But honestly I don't even feel that I became older...

Happy first of August! I really couldn't think of a better title except that one because that's basically all that I'm going to talk about in this very short post.

*Disclaimer: This post is not a paid advertisement whatsoever. It is posted entirely out of advocacy and awareness.

Anyone who knows me know that I love animals very very much. I love bunnies and rabbits most of all. I have two lovable bunny boys, Marion and Oreo, whom I love dearly. So as a bunny mom, I follow fellow bunny parents on their social media. One of my favorites is Bunny Mama, or sometimes known as Eddy & Rambo, her first two adorable bunnies who are already at the rainbow bridge. One day, I came across their Facebook page and saw that she and her bunnies were #FAAT, Forever Against Animal Testing.

So. I've been thinking for the entire day on how I'm going to be writing this post. It's mostly based off personal experience, of course.

Every one of us has gone through something traumatic. More or less it's inevitable. Anything can be traumatic for us--a break-up, verbal, physical or emotional abuse, accidents, disasters. It could be anything that left us really scarred and unable to live without its painful memory. Probably even something as horrible as if your life depended on it. Sometimes we really can't avoid these circumstances and it really does happen to us at some point.

So I'm going to share my experiences, as well as how I'm currently dealing with them. I'm no psychologist but somehow I hope it helps others too!

Before reading on, this is in no way intended to offend anyone, especially the elders. This is meant to create a connection and a certain understanding between two very different generations. It has been difficult to communicate in person because in only ends in arguments and conflict. Hence, this post. Basically, this is an open letter to the baby boomers and everyone older than the millennials.

*Another disclaimer, I'm not speaking entirely on behalf of my generation, please don't get me wrong. Most of these are drawn from personal experiences as well as stories from other millennials. :)

Okay so tomorrow I'm going to have another job interview at one of the biggest banks in the country. The position is no big deal though, but I don't want to dwell too much into it since it might get jinxed (this always happens okay).

Instead, I'm going to list some tips I've learned through different interviews I had in the past. Remember I graduated in 2015, and since then I've had quite a number of interviews - not too many to brag, but enough to give me the feel of how it is to be interviewed by different kinds of companies. I'll try to make this as personal as possible and not make it too generic because, come on, there's already so many "tips to ace that job interview" posts out there. My version will be based on my experience. Plus I never mentioned the word "ace". ;)
